We will create a secure login for you to access Financial Canvas on-line, where you will have access to our modeling environment. You can create a 'live' project or access the existing demonstration environments we have put together to help show you the usability and flexibility in Financial Canvas. Our interactive and visual based models enable you to create rich analytic models that are easy-to-use and update to meet the demands of changing risks or investment strategies
Below is A short one-minute guide to Financial Canvas modelling
How it works?
Click any block to control its properties and view its output
Each Block on the Canvas has calculation settings
that the users are allowed to change.
These are easily customisable and allow the user to adjust parameters of any Block and instantly see the impact on the complete model.
The Property Windows include a huge library of graphing and statistical tools to interrogate the input and output data.
Run the models interactively
Model builders can drag and drop the Property windows to configure interactive user dashboards.
The Dashboards provide a simplified graphical environment for the end users to change inputs and see the impact on the chosen outputs immediately.
Multiple dashboards can be created for each Canvas to cover different tasks and user requirements.
Connectivity and Automatic Documentation
The outputs from each Block can be saved to all common data types to view and use in other applications.
Tracing results along processes, calculations, data transformations etc., is easy and natural.
A technical specification of the model can be generated automatically, including the detail of each Block, its inputs and outputs.
This streamlines production of consistent internal records and external reports for audit, compliance and regulators.
PRE-WRITTEN CODE AND BUILD YOUR OWN
Financial Canvas is coded in MATLAB, a powerful and widely used programming language built for scientists and engineers.
Designed for numeric analysis, MATLAB code runs fast and includes a deep suite of mathematical toolboxes.
The MATLAB language is well known for clear, easy to read code and the ease of prototyping ideas. Wrapping this into the Financial Canvas creates a robust, transparent and accessible modelling environment.
Where models are built to analyse and interrogate data
The ‘Canvas’ is our visual interface where a model is built and maintained. Point and click to add Blocks, connect them together and set their parameters.
Each Block added to the Canvas takes Data Objects as inputs, performs its own specific calculation and passes the results out in new Data Objects.
The output can be passed to other Blocks creating an ‘executable flowchart’ – a powerful and transparent model that is easy to develop and maintain.
The Canvas Log
Your record of every model with full audit history
Model risk comes in various guises from simple spreadsheet errors, poor calibration or using a model outside its range of suitability.
Managing these risks requires that organisations have an overview of the models in use and set clear parameters for their application.
Financial Canvas includes an Integrated log providing oversight of each model including useful summary descriptions and information.
The Log records every change so that users can navigate to the exact configuration of any model at any point in time.
